Q&A with Lauren

Favorite city...because: Definitely Boston. Well, maybe Chicago. Man! But, Annapolis is pretty difficult to beat...I swear I'm not indecisive. I love a city on the water with great seafood and moderate weather. I don't appreciate the heat, which to me is anything above 80 degrees.

Worst habit? Over analyzing absolutely everything.

When I was a kid I wanted to be...when I grew up: A singer, dancer, actress, and a writer. Basically, I wanted to be a quadruple threat.

Last meal? Cheeseburger with french fries (and cheese sauce).

Favorite David memory: Our two nights on the island of Vieques in Puerto Rico. I knew on that trip that David was going to be my husband someday.

I'd rather be: Exploring a new city.

Biggest Accomplishment: Getting Lauren to say "Yes!".

Worst habit? I don't want people to know but...biting my nails.

Favorite Lauren Memory: Our trip to Puerto Rico, especially that beach.

I'd rather be: Independently wealthy.

When I was a kid I wanted to be...when I grew up: A bomb tech. (Seriously?) I'm a weirdo.

Our Story

We met in December 2011 at a bar in Annapolis called the Sly Fox Pub (sadly it no longer exists). David did not ask for Lauren's number because he did not think he had a chance. Stupid! Stupid! Stupid! Thankfully, he was gifted a second chance when we ran into one another again at the very same bar one month later in January 2012. This time David walked Lauren to her car (where they proceeded to sit and chat for hours and hours) and he finally asked her for her phone number. David called a couple days later (props for calling and not texting) and by the end of the week we were on our very first date at Red Red Wine Bar. We dated for two months and then sadly, tragically, and horrifically we went our separate ways. Stupid! Stupid! Stupid!

Ten very long months passed before Lauren decided to contact David via text message in January 2013; something like: "Hey stranger! It's been while. We should catch up?!" David agreed (of course) and a few days later we were on our second first date at Grapes Wine Bar. David's constant travel for work made it very hard for us to get anything going (we saw one another once a month for the first three months!) and it was five and a half months before we made it "official" on June 24th, 2013; please note, it was not Facebook official until July 30th because David is silly (thank you to our MOH, Carly, for making that happen!).

Things really picked up the pace from there: our first "I love yous" were exchanged in October 2013, we put an offer on our house on January 22nd, 2014, and we got engaged on Monday, January 27th while on a long walk through the beautiful Quiet Waters Park in Annapolis, MD.

When it's meant to be it will work out no matter what! We think we are a perfect example of just how true that is!

Lauren's Favorite Thing about David: His warm heart. He loves in a way that I did not think existed.

David's Favorite Thing about Lauren: How silly she can be. She can always make me laugh.
